Unit Evaluation
I think the hardest part about this project, was at the beginning when I really didn't know what my main goal of the final project was. It was hard jumping into it so fast with all the computer days so early, but then after a while it got better. I think the daily assignments worked well, especially the ones that were actually on paper, so we didn't have to switch back and forth from the website to our work. I think that it was a little hard having all the different website open at once, and having to keep switching back and forth between the assignment page, our blog, google docs, and our research was hard, especially on these computers that get slow sometimes. I am also used to working on Macs, so working on PC's and not being able to drag around the websites in order to see everything at once was a little hard, and took some getting used to. I think that at the beginning of the unit for next time, you should maybe show an example of what the final project should be so right away they know what they are looking to achieve. I think this is a good project to sort of learn more about different things with the computer, like PowerPoint and blogs, and it let's us look and critic paintings that in our everyday life, we probably wouldn't do.

3-23
Today I went to the Media Center, and I found a book that give me more information in my painting, including who the man in the center is (the dancing partner). Tonight I am going to work on my bibliography and my power point. I think I am going to be ready to present on Friday. I think I am set in knowing what i need to do in order to complete my project, but I do have one question. For the comparing to the two other paintings, what criteria should they meet? Should they be from the same artist, or time period, or just any random painting?

Blog #6
Today I retyped my written description that I lost the other day when the computers crashed. Tomorrow I'm going to go over it once more and finalize it. Today I also began my work on the power point portion, but I found myself really confused with the Google Docs version of it, so I'm going to make my power point tonight at my house and then upload it to Google Docs (I checked, and it says you can do that on the Google Docs site).
I have decided the perspective of the analysis, and what it means to be human, to talk about how there's many ways to live your life, but two of the main ways I believe get shown in this painting. There's the person who just want to live life to the fullest and dance the night away, not taking to much notice in how others perceive them. The other one is the person who tries to blend in with the crowd, like all the men who look exactly the same, who just want to stick to the status quo and are scared of change.

I have chosen my painting, and it is The Dance At Moulin Rouge, by Henri de Touluse-Lautrec. Today I learned about his life, and what his inspirations for many of his paintings. I also learned about his lifestyle and how it relates to what his subject in his painting are. My next steps are to research a little bit more on his life, but then research the painting itself. I'm not going to be here on friday, but the next time I work on it, i will complete my next steps.

Researching
Today I used Gigablast first. It wasn't good at all. It didn't tell me much about my artist, and all the websites looked like ads. Then I switched over to Google (with wasn't on the list, but I like it the best) and found a few good websites with a lot of information.
Today I learned a little bit of my artist, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, mainly about his background and where he came from. I also learned about where his inspiration came from. Fallon also chose a painting by him, and so later on, after we have found all of our information, we are going to compare it with each other so we don't have any false information in our final project.

My first blog entrie!!!
I think that this project has been going pretty well so far. I'm still having a little trouble with choosing a painting to work with, but I think I have narrowed it down to two. I still need to know what qualities we need to look for in the painting we choose, so that we don't get stumped later and get frustrated at our painting choice. My next step is to finalize my painting decision and then I will begin to look for important information!
